Pro-Mark System Blue

Pro-Mark recently teamed with The Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps to release its new “System Blue” line of sticks, mallets and accessories, including three snare sticks, a tenor stick, two mallet lines and four drum pads.

“Both organizations have been in existence for 50 years,” says Pat Brown, Pro-Mark’s director of sales worldwide. “We just felt like there was a reason we have been fortunate enough to exist that long. It comes down to the quality of product that we both put out. Their product is out on the field and the other things that they do, and ours is in building sticks and mallets.”

The Jim Wunderlich Signature Series and Diversity Series mallets are constructed and wrapped in-house. The Wunderlich Series features five marimba and four vibraphone mallets intended for indoor and outdoor use. The Diversity Series includes four graduated marimba and four graduated xylophone mallets ranging from soft to hard.

The TS8 Sean Vega tenor stick is made of American hickory, and the company claims that “it has the ‘feel’ of a snare stick with the sound of a tenor mallet.” Also included in the System Blue line are two tenor drum pads.

For snare players, System Blue includes three marching snare sticks, including the DC52 for players with smaller hands. The line also includes two snare pads: the PBD double-sided pad and the PBDZ Blue Devils Logo Pad, which features a picture of the corps across the playing surface.
