To celebrate the organization’s 30th anniversary this year, WGI awarded an unprecedented 30 scholarships—instead of the usual 12 or 13. More than 100 people apply for these scholarships each year. One member per competing group may apply or be nominated. “We wanted to help promote further education, and we wanted to focus on people participating in our event,” says Bart Woodley, WGI marketing manager. Applications for the 2008 scholarships will be available in September at www.wgi.org/about/scholarship.php. The site also includes a full list of scholarship recipients. |
