Halftime Magazine Joins MusicMags Distribution Program

Halftime Magazine is proud to become a member of the MusicMags Magazine Distribution Program by the Music Magazine Publishers Assocation. Through MusicMags, Halftime Magazine joins more than four dozen leading music magazines on the “newsstand,” with potential availability at MMPA’s 1,400 music instrument distributors. Music & Arts Center, a national music retail chain, is among the first distributor to carry Halftime Magazine.

“We are excited to give students, parents and directors greater access to the magazine,” says Christine Ngeo Katzman, founder and publisher of Halftime Magazine. “Many musis retailers serve as school music dealers, providing lessons and instrument rentals, sales and repairs to students. Halftime Magazine is a perfect resource at these stores to help provide education to these students and their parents.”

MusicMags publications are distributed by RetailVision, the largest specialty retail magazine distributor in the United States. “The MMPA newsstand program is a perfect example of everyone winning—the publishers, retailers and consumers,” says John Bean, executive vice president of RetailVision. “This allows stores to carry more titles, driving distribution, sales and profitability for retailers and publishers—while giving consumers a broader selection.”

Halftime Magazine highlights the sights, sounds and spirit of the marching arts from the perspective of high school and college “musician-athletes.” The bimonthly print magazine and online community enhances marching participants’ love of music and performance by providing education, entertainment and inspiration.

Content includes profiles, first-person accounts and thought-provoking feature stories about shared experiences such as competitions, school spirit, and band traditions. In addition, the publication will provide tips to enhance students’ musical and marching skills as well as connect the band community through news, events calendars and product reviews.
