Halftime Magazine® Sponsors Marching Band Challenge

Halftime Magazine® is proud to be a supporting sponsor of the third annual CBS 42/Victory Motorcycles of Austin Marching Band Challenge. “Halftime Magazine® is proud to support this worthy endeavor, which recognizes the performances of high school marching band members,” says Christine Ngeo Katzman, founder, CEO and publisher. Drum batteries from 16 Central Texas high schools are taking part. Starting mid-August, pre-taped band performances will be shown at halftime during two Dallas Cowboys and two Houston Texans televised preseason games. Viewers can go to keyetv.com/marchingbandchallenge to vote for their favorite percussion performance. Last year, close to 16,000 viewers voted for their favorite band. The band that receives the highest vote total by noon the following Tuesday will be declared the winner for that round. The winner of each preliminary round will return to compete during a final game. CBS 42 will announce the winner of the preliminary rounds on CBS 42 News at 10 the Tuesday after the performances and the overall winner on Tuesday, Sept. 4, on CBS 42 News at 10. Each participating band will receive $500, and each finalist band will receive an additional $500. The winning drum battery will receive its check and trophy at the local high school football game of its choice and receive five pairs of Zildjian cymbals valued at $3,500.
