RMP-12: Roland’s Electronic Marching Percussion
By Janel Healy Are you ready to enter into a whole new world of electronic percussion? The RMP-12 from Roland Corporation will take you there. This product, one of the first electronic marching percussion instruments, combines Roland’s multi-layer mesh head technology—giving drummers the ability to play longer without straining their joints—with a built-in sound module and “Rhythm Coach” for improved practice. The lightweight and portable RMP-12, which has a 12-inch pad with rim triggering, produces a wide variety of realistic sounds and has the feel of an acoustic drum. You can use this new electronic marching drum for indoor and outdoor performances, or you can quietly practice on it using headphones. It easily attaches to standard marching carriers and concert snare stands, and it can connect to battery-powered amps for mobile practice and performance. To learn more about the RMP-12 and watch performance videos of the product in action, visit http://www.rolandus.com/. |
Halftime MagazineTM, a bimonthly print publication and online community, presents the sights, sounds and spirit of the marching arts, providing education, entertainment and inspiration for students, directors, alumni and fans of high school marching band, college marching band, drum corps, color guard and winter guard, indoor drum line or percussion, and all-age ensembles. A portion of subscription sales will be donated to marching programs across the country. |
