Air Blade by Band Shoppe

Air Blade by Band Shoppe

By Elizabeth Geli

Is your guard ready to try something different? The Air Blade by Band Shoppe is an exciting new spin on guard weapons.

Made of high-impact ABS plastic, the Air Blade has no small holes or screws and is very durable.

“Every guard room has a box of broken rifles, so durability was very important to us,” says J. Pearison, who oversaw the development of the Air Blade and is senior vice president of Band Shoppe. “We know how important it is for [guard equipment] to be not only visually appealing but also incredibly durable.”

The 39”-long and 2.35-pound Air Blade can be used to do almost anything done with a rifle, and its design offers thousands of new potential handhold positions.

Pearison had wanted to develop a new weapon for some time. “It’s something that we’ve seen coming for awhile,” Pearison says. “When we started messing around with designs, we saw the chance to do more and received a lot of positive feedback. It’s a hard product to make, more challenging that I ever anticipated.”
