Adams Revolution Series Timpani

Adams Musical Instruments recently announced its Revolution Series Timpani, which aims to be “the most practical, portable, high-quality timpani ever created,” according to the company’s press release. The Revolution series includes standard-sized drums from 20” to 32”.

The timpani features a detachable, folding base that can separate from the drum’s bowl without the need for special tools.

“Instead of trying to have two or three people carry the timpani, you can remove the bowl and just carry it up,” says Joe Fant, education marketing assistant at Pearl.

The Revolution Series Timpani is available in fiberglass, copper and “hand-hammered copper” and can be height-adjusted to accommodate younger percussionists.

Fant also mentions that the Revolution Series is the fi rst balanced action set of timpani that can be used with real calfskin heads for players looking for the most traditional sound. The drums also feature a hand tuner that allows players to adjust the drum beyond an octave per timpani without attaching the foot pedal.
