Remo Colortone Drumheads

Remo Colortone Drumheads

With marching arts fans and judges demanding musical excellence as well as visual appeal, Remo Inc. is helping ensembles take their performances to the next level with Colortone drumheads.

Named as a Best in Show item in the Add-ons and Accessories category by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) in January 2018, the Remo Colortone drumheads are available in orange, yellow, red, green, blue, and smoke (gray). These colors can be interchanged or combined to create a “jellybean-type look,” says Brian LeVan, Remo global sales manager.

“We’ve always been primarily focused on the quality of sound, but we decided to enhance the visual side as well,” LeVan says. “A lot of the heads out there today are clear or coated or black, so it’s been pretty tame in the market until now.”

The Colortone drumheads are available in Emperor, Powerstroke 77, and Powerstroke P3 in sizes 8” through 26”. Marching bands can use the Powerstroke 77 Colortone for their snares.

“A lot of music and drumming in general is being shared through social media, … not only through audio but obviously visually [as well],” LeVan says. “Since it’s a show business type product, it’s about the sound quality as well as the visual enhancement.”
