HS Championships 2015 Recap

As the 2015 marching band season ends, the champions in each circuit stand victorious.

At Bands of America, Broken Arrow (Oklahoma) was named Grand National Champion. “I have never seen a band of mine improve as much in the last week [of the season] as this one did,” says Darrin Davis, director of bands at Broken Arrow. “Our finals performance was the most electric performance I’ve ever been a part of.”

Cavalcade of Bands ended its season with five divisions of champions—Independence: A, Sissonville from Charleston, W.V., and Open, Blue Mountain from Schuylkill Haven, Pa.; Yankee: A, Kennett from Kennett Square, Pa., and Open, Marple Newtown from Newtown Square, Pa.; American: A, Northampton (Pa.), and Open, Sun Valley from Aston, Pa.; Patriot: A, Downington (Pa.) West, and Open, Upper Moreland from Willow Grove, Pa.; Liberty: A, Daniel Boone from Birdsboro, Pa., and Open, Hatboro-Horsham from Horsham, Pa.

Tournament of Bands had four champions in A Class and four in Open Class—A Class: Group 1, Oakcrest from Mays Landing, N.J.; Group 2, Clarke County from Berryville, Va.; Group 3, Metuchen (N.J.); and Group 4, Loudoun County (Va.) from Leesburg, Va.; Open Class: Group 1, Biglerville (Pa.); Group 2, West Deptford (N.J.); Group 3, Brick (N.J.) Memorial; and Group 4, Spring-Ford from Royersford, Pa.

USBands crowned six A Class and six Open Class champions—A Class: Group I, Somerset (Mass.) Berkley Regional; Group II, Kingsway Regional from Woolwich Township, N.J.; Group III, Montville (N.J.) Township; Group IV, Parsippany (N.J.); Group V, Westfield (N.J.); and Group VI, New Providence (N.J.); Open Class: Group I, East Stroudsburg Area North from Dingmans Ferry, Pa.; Group II, Shepherd Hill Regional from Dudley, Mass.; Group III, King Philip Regional from Wrentham, Mass.; Group IV, Blackstone-Millville Regional from Blackstone, Mass.; Group V, Mechanicsburg (Pa.) Area Senior; and Group VI, Norwin from North Huntingdon, Pa.
