If you’re tired of selling pizza, cookie dough and gift wrap, then you might want to check out PULLanthropy, a new way to fundraise and an official partner of Music for All.
PULLanthropy offers fundraising booklets that have the ability to earn $175 for your band with each used booklet. Here’s how it works:
1. Students ask potential donors to pull a tab, revealing an amount from $1 to $5.
2. The person donates that amount.
3. The student gives the donor a sheet of coupons and discount offers from national retailers such as PetsMart, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Netflix, Lids and Sirius Satellite Radio.
4. If the contributor would like to donate more, they can pull more tabs.
Scott Taylor, the creator of PULLanthropy and president of its parent company TPS Funding, says the biggest benefi t of the program is that the donation is a one-time transaction. There’s no need to get back in contact with your contributors or make any sort of deliveries.
“Everybody that we talk to that are doing fundraisers were taking anywhere from six to eight weeks on average to complete a fundraiser,” Taylor says. “This program is instant gratifi cation for the organization.”
Taylor began developing PULLanthropy more than a year ago and has had success with music programs and athletic teams in need of fundraisers. “Band directors get the concept immediately; they don’t want to draw out fundraisers,” Taylor says. “You would have to sell 60 pizzas, 30 tubs of cookie dough or 350 candy bars to equal one of my cards.”
