Pageantry Innovations Performance Rack

Learn more about the Pageantr Innovations performance rack.

During the past five years, Pageantry Innovations (PI) has gone from a small, part-time, two-person operation to a reliable supplier for 80 percent of the World Class ensembles in Drum Corps International. Founded in July 2012 by Kyle Mattevi, PI designs equipment racks, carts, and custom-made prop systems for marching arts organizations.

PI’s performance racks comprise fully-welded parts, eight-inch casters, and a durable textured black finish. “We know our customers are making a significant investment, and we want [the products] to be substantial,” Mattevi says.

The lack of moving parts gives the racks a long lifespan while the eight-inch casters keep them sturdy. “Nobody has to worry about a caster going flat at [a] performance,” he adds.

PI’s electronics carts also come pre-wired, so that they’re fully functional and ready for customer use. Keeping up with the evolution of electronics is a major tenant of PI’s philosophy and a factor in the company’s founding. “We noticed the products on the market didn’t necessarily suit the evolving percussive activity the way electronics were going,” Mattevi says. “That’s where we have tried to focus.”

Mattevi has the next year of innovation planned out. “We want to maintain the durability of [our] carts but create a lighter-weight solution,” he says.

PI is also planning to make some of its accessories, such as trays, cradles and mounts, more user-friendly.
