BAND App Offers Unique Promotions for Band Directors
Receive a free membership to USBands, a scholarship to the Music for All Summer Symposium, and a VIP experience to a major Bands of America competition.

Through Sept. 30, 2019, band directors can receive free memberships, scholarships, and VIP experiences simply by referring people to the BAND app, an organizational management tool for group communication.

For BAND’s New School Year Campaign, the first 100 band directors who invite 50 or more new members to the BAND app will receive free one-year memberships or membership upgrades to USBands.

The first 100 directors who invite 100 or more new members to join the BAND app will receive a scholarship to the 2020 Music for All (MFA) Summer Symposium, held at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, from June 20 to 27, 2020. For directors who can’t attend, the scholarship can be passed on to one of their students.

If directors invite 200 or more new members, they will be entered in a raffle to win one of five VIP experience packages for Bands of America (BOA) Grand Nationals or a Super Regional of their choice. The VIP experience package includes tickets and a hotel room for two people along with a complimentary program book and lunch/dinner catered on both days of the event.

To be eligible for the promotions, each director must download the BAND app, available through the Apple App Store and Google Play—to a mobile device, sign up for an account through the app, and then also fill out the promo form. The MFA and BOA promotion form can be found at http://go.band.us/ourl/423oqc, and the USBands promotion form can be found at http://go.band.us/ourl/42rj5b. The promotion links will only work if directors click on them using their mobile phones after signing up for the BAND app, says Peter Hensch, BAND Marketing Manager.

“In general, this is back-to-school season, so many student groups are reforming and getting together and figuring out the details for the next season,” Hensch says. “It’s just the right time to make people aware that there is a service out there called BAND that helps you to get your group activity organized.”

BAND also created a new Band Director’s Hub, which is a community where directors and staff can pose questions and make suggestions to other directors. Join the hub by visiting http://bit.ly/2MjpQQ2.
